DESIGN INTERN

JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

The Hendrickson Interiors Design Intern Design Assistant intern is responsible for performing as part of the team. This position takes direction from the Designers and works independently and collaboratively to complete design projects and studio related projects using both creative and technical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Studio Organization 

  • Assist with keeping the design library and client projects organized and up to date.

  • Organize samples and inventory

  • Organize and manage inventory

  • Organize client bins, close out projects, refile or reorder samples, etc 

  • Organize office supplies, as needed

  • Track office supplies, as needed

  • Order samples and books from vendors

  • Organize vendor list, as needed

  • Compile and prepare orders for inventory, if needed

2) Client Projects

  • Provide overall support with client projects with floor plans, selections, drawings, and design tasks. Duties may include:

  • Assist on photo shoots, as needed

  • Assist on install day, as needed

  • Assist with preparation for photo shoots and installs

  • Draft floor plans and ceiling plans, elevations, and details

  • Product research and inspired sourcing of furnishings, lighting, accessories, fixtures, finishes, material options, and reselections, as requested

  • Assisting designer as needed

 

3) Client Presentations

  • Prepare for client presentations, both in studio and virtual.

  • Assemble presentation boards and materials

  • Create digital design boards for presentations

  • Create and print presentation documents as needed

  • Prepare office for presentation day

  • Mail presentation materials for virtual clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in communicating with clients, contractors and vendors

  • Must be professional, reliable, and punctual, with personal stability

  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities

  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

  • Work on-site at home office and in clients’ homes following COVID-19 protocols

  • Comfortable using software and willingness to learn (Design Files, Trello, Google drive)
